“24,000 children will die today, mostly from preventable causes,” says Ben Phillips of Save the Children. “If governments and donors invest in hiring more health workers and properly supporting them in a functioning health system, millions more children will survive and thrive. Investing in health workers is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do.”

Composed in 1990, “A Wasp” was published in a Journal of Hope for Dr. Binayek Sen, an imprisoned Indian anti-poverty campaigner.

Two Singaporeans have contributed to a ‘Journal of Hope’ for Indian anti-poverty campaigner Dr. Binayek Sen, who was recently sentenced to life in prison for sedition. Teo Soh Lung and Vincent Cheng join activists and former detainees from El Salvador to Ethiopia in sharing messages of encouragement for Dr. Sen and calling for his release.
