Read on to learn more about UN Women’s areas of work . . .

UN Women’s focus areas include:

  • Peace & Security, because women bear the brunt of modern conflicts and must be at the centre of peace talks and post-conflict reconstruction
  • Leadership & Participation – the percentage of women in political and other leadership roles is small
  • National Planning & Budgeting
  • Economic Empowerment – Women lag far behind men in access to land, credit & decent jobs
  • MDGs
  • Violence Against Women
