ONE (FOOTBALL) 2006 EVENT GUIDELINES

The Organizer reserves the right to make any changes without prior notice. 

1. Eligibility of Participation

Participants must be:

  • Amateur footballers and not paid in any capacity to play football in Singapore or any other country
  • At the age specified to enter as a Child, Youth or Adult
  • Not prohibited or banned from playing football as directed by the Football Association of Singapore
  • A representative of only one team in the event, ie cannot play for more than one team
  • Registered as a player for the team he/she is representing on the Team Entry Form
  • A signatory to the Team Waiver Form (parents or guardians to sign for those under 18 years of age on 30.11.2006).

2. Participation Fee
  • For adult teams, the participation fee is $25 per person registered
  • The fee for Youth teams (13 to 17 yeas of age) is $20 per person registered
  • Children’s teams (under 13 years of age) participation fee is $15 per person registered
  • Teams entered under the name of their company will pay a flat fee of $500 per team
  • It is encouraged that the participation fee for youth and children’s team is borne by corporate sponsors
3. Welcome Package

Each fully paid up participant will receive a welcome package consisting of:

  • A ONE (SINGAPORE) dry-fit t-shirt (either black or white colour)
  • A white wristband (the international symbol of the Make Poverty History movement)
  • An event program
  • One-year ONE (SINGAPORE) membership
  • Other promotional items from the sponsors

4. Terms & Conditions of Participation Fee
  • Payment of participation fee is NOT a confirmation of entry to the event
  • Entry is on a first-come basis and subject to availability
  • Payments made by persons who are not entered in the event will be REFUNDED after the event
  • Teams entering the event using their company name can only do so upon paying the fee for corporate entries
  • A team consisting of players from one company enter the competition using a name other than their company name or a name alluding to their company, can enter upon payment of the ‘per person’ participation fee
  • No refund will be given for cancellation of event or withdrawal of teams for reasons outside of the Organiser’s control
5. Team Captain
  • Every participating team is required to designate one responsible person to be the Team Captain
  • Team Captain will be the main liaison persons between the team and the  Organisers
  • It is the Team Captain’s responsibility to ensure all information provided is correct and complete and that their team is aware of the rules and regulations for this event.
6. Registration Procedure
  • Download registration form from www.onesingapore.org/onefootball
  • Fully complete the details required

  • Send the completed form plus a cheque for the participation fees to:

  • Cheques to be crossed and made payable to “ONE (SINGAPORE)”
  • Team Captains to submit team details by Friday, 1st December, 2006
  • Team Captains will be notified via email of confirmation of entry to the event and an official receipt will be sent to them via mail
  • The registration for participation in this event is on first-come, first-served basis and must be submitted by the closing dates
  • The waiver form attached in the Team Entry Form must be read and signed by each participant prior to taking part in the event. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse participation if the waiver form is not duly signed by every participant in the team.
7. Tournament Draw
  • Team Captains will be notified of the Tournament start time by 5th December, 2006
  • The Draw for each tournament will be available only on the day of the event
  • All draw results are final and no changes are allowed.
8. Prizes
  • Prizes will be awarded to the teams that finish First and Second in their tournament
  • All winners must be present at the award presentation ceremony scheduled for 7.00pm on Saturday 9th December, 2006.
9. Withdrawal & Refund Policy
  • No withdrawal or refund will be given upon confirmation of participation.
10. Indemnity
  • ONE (SINGAPORE), its Organizing Committee Members and appointed officials will not be liable for any death, disability and/or personal injury whatsoever caused to any player or official and / or loss of personal property arising at any time during the course of participation in ONE (FOOTBALL) or any of its related activity. 
11. Use of Company Name and Recorded Materials
  • ONE (SINGAPORE), the Organizing Committee Members and appointed officials and sponsors reserve the right to use the names of the participating players and/or organizations, any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other records of this Event for any legitimate purpose, including promotion of the Event.
12. Designated Adult Supervision 
  • Every participating Children’s and Youth’s team must have a responsible adult designated as the liaison person between the team and the Organisers. This liaison person must be present throughout the tournament whilst his/her team is playing. The liaison person should be listed as team captain on the entry form for youths and children and is not required to pay a participation fee.
13. Attire
  • All participants will be given, as part of their participation kit, either a white or black “Make Poverty History” t-shirt.  This t-shirt must be worn by the entire team during their matches.  Failure to do so may lead to disqualification by the Organisers.
14. Supplementary
  • In the event of any question or matter arising out of any point which is not expressly provided for in any of the rules governing this event, the decision of the Organizer shall be final.
  • These Event Guidelines are current at the time of printing. The Organizer reserves the right to add, delete and/or vary the said Guidelines at any time as it deems fit without prior notification.
