We are a 100% volunteer organisation and would not be able to carry out any of our work without people giving us their time and energy. Singapore is a time poor nation and people have busy lives with both work and family commitments. We believe that although it’s hard to find the time, helping others and spreading the word about a cause you believe in can bring a rich sense of purpose into people’s lives.

All the volunteering roles we offer help us do our work of raising public awareness and taking concrete action to Make Poverty History. What we offer
Volunteering with ONE (SINGAPORE) offers the chance to:
- Change the world – it’s a big claim but big changes come from small actions. By helping us do our work, you ensure that poverty is not ignored. You’ll also be part of the international movement to Make Poverty History and create The World We Want, which is already making an impact.
- Develop yourself – Whether you’re a student, homemaker, new graduate, retiree, in a job you want to move out of or just someone who loves learning, volunteering can help you. As well as exercising your skills, it’s an opportunity to try new things, think about new ideas and do something that enlivens you.
- Meet new interesting people! People who are motivated and driven to make a change in their world are interesting. We’re a mixed bunch of people of different ages, from different counties and backgrounds, with a variety of interests and talents.
- Get some career experience – Skills that you practice and learn while working on the campaign can help you do your job better or even give you the experience to switch careers or advance in the workplace.
- Do something meaningful – our days and our lives can get a bit mundane when they have no real sense of giving in them. It feels great to volunteer, that’s why so many people find the time to do it.

We believe in doing what we can to ensure that the relationship between ONE (SINGAPORE) and our volunteers will benefit everyone involved. It is with this in mind that we offer straight-forward information about what we need from you. The positions require varying levels of commitment. We need people for one-off ad hoc roles as well as ongoing work. Our ongoing roles require 1 – 6 hours a week of your time.
