Volunteer Co-ordinator (ongoing)
Availability: Some of this work can be done in your own time. It will involve attending events and meeting, as well as making calls, in the evenings and at weekends.
Time needed: Potentially this role could take between 4-8 hours a week. We’re developing our volunteer management systems and going through a recruitment drive so this role will be quite substantial for the first few months.
Impact of role: Because we’re entirely run by volunteers we cannot do any of our work unless we have people offering us their time and energy. This role helps us ensure we support and encourage volunteers so that they can do their work and ONE (SINGAPORE) can continue to raise awareness and take concrete actions to end global poverty.
Tasks:
• Help us promote our volunteering roles to members.
• Help the exco (our executive committee) with the process of recruiting and selecting volunteers, ensuring volunteers are well matched to the roles we offer.
• Help us keep volunteers motivated by providing inspirational stores for the newsletter, supporting volunteers and helping us resolve any misunderstandings.
The person we’re looking for will:
• Have really wonderful people skills that make it easy for you to talk, support and connect with our members and volunteers.
• Have some understanding about volunteering – what motivates people, what problems volunteers might face and what their needs might be.
• Have communication and organisational skills that will enable you to get people through the recruitment and selection process efficiently and effectively.
• Be able to support yourself and motivate yourself to meet deadlines.
